Vintage-y Goodness

Hubby and I got some great deals on antiques this week. I have said it before and I will say it again, I love filling the house with history! Yesterday we drove down to Alexandria to pick up this old wardrobe. I love the details! The mirror is all crackled and maybe others would have passed it buy but I love the imperfection.

We also adopted two old scales. One is a doctor scale that is still accurate! Believe me, we tested it out. The other is a store scale, not in working condition, but still awesome nonetheless. My favorite part might be that it says Toledo on it. It must be a sign, since I absolutely loved Toledo when I was living in Spain. As hubby reminded me, its also a large town in Ohio, but we will go with the Spain theory.

China and Antlers

My knitting room was looking a little bleak. I am trying not to invest in any decorating improvements if we might be moving. This little makeover can (and will) move with us wherever we go. I have a mix of antique and goodwill white plates. I also have these adorable antlers we bought at Old Glory, the antique store in Frederick. The plates sat in a pile in the room until they figured out exactly where they want to reside. Check out where everything landed!
